Move Club Movies Inspire Creativity!

Jake and the neverland piratesThere is a new fad in our house currently, one that hasn’t been there before. I am not sure what I think of it yet. It’s not annoying quite yet but it might be. What’s the fad? Talking like a pirate is the new fad in the house these days. The word yes has been replaced with the word “yarrrrrrrr” and any opposition is met with a “walk the plank.” Yep, you guessed it; little mini pirates have taken over our house.

My kids have never seen the Disney Junior show Jake and the Never Land Pirates before but I knew that it would be hit. Mainly because they are acting like pirates and they love Peter Pan. Peter Pan is a movie my kids first saw when we joined a movie club. I love movie clubs because you can get great movies, newly out or old favorites at decent prices. The most recent one we got was one of the New Jake and the Neverland Pirates.

New Kids Pirate Movie

When Peter loses his shadow while playing a game of Catch Me If You Can he goes back to Never Land to seek the help from his kid pirate friend Jake. Jake and his kid pirate pals embark on one of their most daring and exciting adventures ever, Izzy and Cubby, along with lookout parrot Skully, learn they must use teamwork to find Peter’s shadow and return it to its rightful owner. Their mission is nearly thwarted by the fiendish Captain Hook, and his bumbling first mat Mr. Smee. But bravery and justice win the day and Jake and his Never Land pirate crew once again reveals what it takes to become heroes, in this new and action packed DVD.

They immediately recognized Peter pan on the cover and asked if it was a new Peter pan movie. When I told them yes and no, they were a bit sad but once we popped the DVD in they were all smiles. This movie captivated my younger pirates more than I thought it would. They were immersed in the film and nothing would tear them away from the screen. After the movie was over there were sword fights and lots of pirate fun for all. This was great for our rainy day inside the house and most all it inspired a pretend pirate game as well as pirate ship building later that day.

What are you waiting for? See what movie club movie will inspire your kids to do!
