Stylish Footwear For Fall
I have been researching what the most current and stylish footwear for fall is going to be. There are a few things that are hot this season, including faux fur, eco-friendly accessories and tall boots. Here are some ideas to help you create a wardrobe that everyone will be impressed with.
- One trend that is hot right now is anything rouched and pleated. This look is being done on everything from dresses to purses to boots. Rouching and pleating can add some very interesting texture to a garment. I have a rouched handbag from an up and coming fashion designer and I have had so many compliments on it.
- Say goodbye to your flats and sandals because really high heels are hot this year. When you are shopping for shoes or boots, you will see a stiletto heel that will reach the whole shoe spectrum. If you aren’t used to wearing heels this high, I advise you to practice walking in them before you debut them for a night out on the town.
- Ballet flats are very hot right now, especially if they are embellished. It seems that the metallic look and deep and rich jewel tones are the most popular color for the flats but as far as the embellishments, it seems anything goes. I have seen flowers, geometric designs, beads, and even feathers adorning this footwear.
- Boots, boots and more boots. As you have probably guessed, boots are very hot this season. The trend is leaning to tall boots as well as ankle boots. It isn’t just leather that is in either. Suede is a very popular material for boots this year as well. Just remember to spray them with water repellant before wearing.
If you want to wear some footwear that will be very popular, I would suggest looking for beautiful hand-made boots. There is nothing like owning anything that is hand-made, be it boots, a purse or sweater. My favorite company, Inca Boots was gracious and generous enough to send me a pair of their Classic Tall Tan Boots ($185.00). Each pair of shoes or boots from Inca are made from materials found in Peru and are made by some incredibly talented Peruvian artisans. Evan Streusand is the founder of Inca Boots and we are all very glad he made a detour while in Peru almost 10 years ago! While hiking with friends, Evan’s friend talked him into visiting a boot shop nearby and for Evan; it was love at first sight! When I received the Classic Tall Tan Boots from Inca, the first thing I noticed was the beautifully intricate stitching and colors used to embellish the boots. The boots are incredibly comfortable and you almost hate to take them off at the end of the day. the boots are made with suede on the outside, lambskin inside and rubber soles. In case you can’t tell from my review that I love the footwear from Inca, I will illustrate with a short story. When I reviewed a pair of gorgeous shoes from Inca in the spring, my best friend fell in love them and I offered to let her borrow them. Well, we now have joint custody of the shoes. As for the boots; they didn’t fare for me any better than the shoes! Both of my kids have been fighting over who gets to wear the boots. When I told them I was the one who would wear the boots, they just scoffed at me. And here I am, with lonely feet that are patiently waiting for their Inca boots to come back to them!
